I feel so far away from Michigan when March rolls around. I miss the small college basketball there and Tri-Unity's annual run to the Breslin Center. There is nothing even close to that down here and there are not too many hard core basketball fans here in Jacksonville (thanks, Kevin, even though you are a Duke fan.) Good thing Dana has become a hard core fan.
As humiliating as it is, Dana has beaten me in the NCAA tournament bracket 3 years in a row. In fact, that might be a lie. I can't remember the last time I won legitimately. The last two times I won, I actually changed the point system mid way through in order to get the overall win. We now set ALL of the rules beforehand.
When we were newly married, Dana was still learning the game and would choose teams in bracket based on her like for the team colors or because they had a cool mascot name. That is not the case any more. Last year, we had this conversation as she was filling out her bracket:
Dana: Hey Honey?
Bryan: Yes, what?
Dana: You think Memphis will make a long run in the tournament?
Bryan: I am not going to answer that, Dear. Fill out your bracket.
Dana: We have watched some games when they missed their free throws at the end. I think that will hurt them. Plus they can't score against the zone.
Bryan: I am so turned on right now! Get over here!
We will keep you posted on the results this year.
